A Brief History
1985-1990 - The EOQ Education and Training committee defines the Knowledge and experience of Quality Professional.
1990-1993 - EOQ builds the EOQ Personnel Harmonized Scheme
June 13, 1993: The EOQ General Assembly approves in Helsinki the Memorandum of Understanding for Establishing an EOQ Harmonized Scheme for the Qualification and Registration of Quality Personnel
January 19, 1995 DGQ receives the first recognition certificate as EOQ Agent for registration of personnel
October 30, 1996 The EOQ Harmonized Scheme for the Qualification and Registration of Quality Personnel is recorded in the document “A European Quality promotion policy for improving European Competitiveness” (Ch III, 2, e) : "One of the main methods of bringing coherence to the quality world ….would be to ensure that training programmes develop similar approaches……In this contest, the work already carried out by bodies such as the European Organization for Quality (EOQ), which has developed harmonized scheme, at European level…could be of exemplary value."
- The EOQ goal is to achieve mutual recognition of qualifications within the Harmonized Scheme and, hence, the registration and certification of EOQ certified professionals.
- The EOQ Personnel Registration Scheme has been broadly welcomed as being genuinely European and has been commended for its openness, transparency and credibility in the eyes of a wide range of users.
- The EOQ provides harmonised rules and procedures for the qualification and registration of EOQ certified professionals.
For this purpose, the EOQ has formed a special unit, the EOQ Personnel Registration Unit (EOQ-PRU).
The EOQ Personnel Registration Unit (EOQ-PRU)
- Acts both as a clearing body and as a body for the recognition/certification and acceptance of EOQ certified professionals
- Deals with the:
- Harmonisation of EOQ Personnel Registration Schemes
- Registration of EOQ certified professionals

Assessment/recognition of PRU Agents for personnel certification
PRU Agent - EOQ National Representative recognized by the EOQ against established rules, applying the EOQ Personnel Registration Scheme
- In order to be more effective and to react in real time to the requirements of its customers and the market needs, from the beginning of the year 2008, the EOQ-PRU is functioning in a management system, defined bay taking into account the relevant requirements of the standards ISO 9001:2000 and EN/ISO/IEC 17024:2003.
