European Quality Week


The European Quality Week is organized by the European Organization for Quality (EOQ). The European Quality Week is an annual focus for campaigns of public awareness, promotion and demonstration of the advantages and importance of quality to competitiveness across Europe. It takes place in November during the week that includes the second Thursday of the month - World Quality Day.

Outcomes of the European Quality Week 2014

  • KOQIM/Kazakhstan - This event was organized by KOQIM in cooperation with the Government Committee for Technical Regulation, Standardization and Metrology of Kazakhstan having as theme: "Quality as the Basis for Business Excellence, Leadership and Innovation" . There were about 100 representatives from government organizations, industry, education, health and others. At the same time taking into account the large territory of Kazakhstan we provided online attendance via webinar program of more than 700 participants from 56 organizations located in different cities of our country.
    The opening ceremony started with the Greeting Speech of Mr. Birzhan Kaneshev, the Chair of the Government Committee of Kazakhstan for Technical Regulations, Standardization and Metrology. The moderator of the conference was Mr. Azat Abdrakhmanov. Thereafter the Conference participants saw the video greetings of Mr. George Georgiades, EOQ President, and of Mr. Yuri Gusakov, elected President of the ANQ, as well as of Quality professional Mr. Grant Regan from Canada.
    The conference program included the presentations not only of the quality experts and representatives of the enterprises of Kazakhstan, but also foreign speakers,  like Mr. George A. Ioannou (PwC | Director | Consulting) from Cyprus, who made an online presentation on the problems of re-engineering of business processes in public organizations, Mr. Ed van den Heever, the Chief Executive Officer of "Business assessment services", who devoted his online report on the problems of Business Excellence Model in South Africa.
  • NFKR/Norway - NFKR had the most successful EQW ever. This included our national conference titled The Future Management System in Oslo with 252 participants, opened by NFKR President Sidsel W Storaas. This was all time high, up 75% from last year with highly profiled national and international speakers. Guest key note speaker was our EOQ colleague Dr. Anni Koubek from Quality Austria presenting updates in the new ISO 9001:2015 as member of the ISO TC 176 international committee. Feedback from 50% of the participants scored the conference to 4,3 of 5. Videos of presentations and 20 interviews were introduced for the first time to enhance the sharing value of the conference, available at www.nfkr.no. For the third year at EWQ, NFKR awarded the national version of the EOQ Quality Award for Authority related activities. This year it was the national Meteorological institute that was the winner in front of the National Tax Authority and Innovation Norway. 
    Additionally three regional seminars in Bergen, Aalesund and Trondheim collected more than 100 additional participants

European Quality Week Events 2014

  • Belgium - VCK organizes its annual congress about strategy and risks in the new ISO 9001: 2015 and football on the 25th of November. Title of the event: “Goal: score with your ISO”.

  • Belarus - Republic of Belarus celebrates the  Quality Week and on November 4 - 14, 2014 a series of events will be organized under the auspices of the State Committee for Standardization, under whose leadership the state policy in the field of quality is being implemented: the Republican press conference for the World Day of Quality will be held, the meeting of the Technical Committee for Standardization TC BY 4 "Quality Management" will take place, Welcome days and roundtable discussions will be organized in regions of the country.
  • Bulgaria - Association Club 9000 will celebrate  this year the European Week of Quality by organizing the 25th "Conference on Quality" on 13 to 14 November 2014 in the building of the Bulgarian Institute for Standardization. www.club9000.org 
  • Czech Republic - Czech Society for Quality  (CSQ)  is celebrating the EOQ Quality Week 2014 on  the 11th November. The theme is “ Winning through Quality". The International Conference is held in Prague. 
    CSQ's subsidiaries in regions organize locally one day November Conferences.
    The International Conference follows up with the Winners Conference on 25th November 2014 in Prague. The theme is “Best practices – Initiative for effective changes“. The Conference includes also National Quality Award at the Prague Castle with the participation of Prime Minister and other Ministers.

  • Estonia - Estonian Association for Quality is organizing a conference on the 27th of November, 2014 in Tallinn. The theme of the conference is 'QUALITY & DESIGN' and it is organized in cooperation with Estonian Design Centre. Please find attached the invitation. The English language website is

  • Finland - Excellence Finland organizes a conference on the 13th of November on a theme: “ When quality makes the difference”.

  • Hungary - The HNC will organize a Quality Conference in cooperation with the Hungarian Quality Society in Budapest on November 4-5, 2014, with the topic: "Changing the System as Basis for Quality Development"
  • Italy - 26a CAMPAGNA NAZIONALE QUALITA’ E INNOVAZIONE (ed. 2014)
    Shared Communication Campaign promoted by Galgano Group, as part of the 20th European Quality Week, on the occasion of World Quality Day. This Campaign  is unique in its kind in Italy; this cultural movement has the objective to promote culture and the strategic role of Quality and Innovation for the benefit of our country, of our companies and for all of us, with the aim of “fare bene e farlo sapere” (“to do well and make it known”)
    The Italian Event is signed up every year by hundreds of private and public firms from every sector and of every dimension, that trust in the Values of Quality and Innovation, considered as models that seek to Excellence
  • Kazakhstan - KOQIM plans to hold a conference on the theme: "Quality as Basis for Business excellence, Leadership and Innovation." This event will be organized in cooperation with the Government Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of Kazakhstan in Astana, November 13, 2014.
    This year KOQIM is planning to gather in the conference hall about 150 representatives from government organizations, industry, education, health and others. At the same time taking into account the large territory of Kazakhstan KOQIM wants to attract online attendance via webinar program of more than 300 participants from several cities of Kazakhstan
  • Norway - NFKR is celebrating the European Quality Week in November with a national conference in Oslo the 11th November, and regional seminars at 4 locations. The heading for the national conference is “THE FUTURE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM” and is already registering showing record participation. We enjoy that Dr. Anni Koubek from Quality Austria, also a key resource for EOQ and a member of ISO TC 176, participate with 2 lectures together with a number of first time presentations from leading national and international corporations and their SVP Quality and Risk Directors.   • Portugal - The Portuguese Association for Quality (APQ) organizes the Quality Portuguese Congress in November 13-14, 2014 in Lisbon. More info on www.apq.pt

  • Slovenia - The Slovenian Association for Quality and Excellence (SZKO) is organizing its 23rd annual conference on the 13th and 14th of November 2014, with the theme “Holistic restructuring? The answer is quality”. It will take place in the Slovenian coastal city Portorož, at the Grand Hotel Bernardin.   • Ukraine - Ukrainian Association for Quality (UAQ) will celebrate the European Quality Week by organizing the 23rd International Forum “Quality Days in Kiev”, which will be held on 12-14 November 2014. The Forum’s program includes the Conference “Through quality and excellence to European markets and prosperous Ukraine”, seminars on actual aspects of effective management.

European Quality Week Events 2013

  • Belgium - During the European Quality Week 2013 VCK organizes its yearly quality celebrations. It will be organized on November 22, 2013 in the famous Horta house, an art deco building in Antwerp.
    At the event will be awarded the VCK business excellence award, K2 award and several other nominations. This year VCK will also launch the new content platform  Kwinta. About 150 people are expected to celebrate Quality with us. See more information on http://vck.be/.
  • Czech Republic - Czech Society for Quality  (CSQ)  is celebrating the EOQ Quality Week 2013 during  the 11th and 12th November. The theme is “Kvalitou pro uspech” (liberal translation Made in Quality – Made for Success). The International Conference is held in Prague.
    The key topics are:
    - Methods and procedures in QMS in automotive industry
    - Quality in industry and building
    - Future and Corporate Social Responsibility
    - Customer protection
    Our subsidiaries in regions organize one day November Conferences locally.
    The International Conference follows up with the Winners Conference on 26th November 2013 in Prague.   • Greece - HMA will honor the Quality Leader of the Year 2013, in an award ceremony which will take place on Monday, November 18th 2013 at the Athenaeum Intercontinental Athens. This event it is estimated that it will host more than 500 delegates, senior managers/ executives from Greek, Cyprus, multinational companies as well as academics and representatives from the Greek Ministries.   • Hungary - The Hungarian National Committee for EOQ will be the Co-Organizer of 22nd Hungarian Quality Week together with the Hungarian Society for Quality on November 5-6, 2013. In addition, HNC will organize The Food Safety Conference in the Ministry of Rural Development on November 7, 2013.
  • Italy - Within the framework of the 19th European Week of Quality "Made in Quality - Made for Success"

  • Kazakhstan - KOQIM organizes a Quality Conference on November 8, 2013 at Intercontinental Hotel Almaty. At this event will be attended around 80 members of the association and strategic partners in Almaty and  over than 120 participants from other cities of Kazakhstan (Astana, Karaganda, Temirtau) will be connected online in the form of a teleconference. It will be presented a key report by the Government Committee for Standardization and Technical Regulations on the progress in the field of implementation of ISO International Standards in the Republic of Kazakhstan and National Quality Award 2013. 
  • Norway - NFKR is celebrating the EOQ Quality Week 2013 the 11th November in Oslo with a one day national conference with the theme “From management to results”. It’s a one day - three stream conference, and we expect 180 participants. Key topics are competence requirements, effectiveness,  experience transfer through use of standards and a World Café covering quality management and competitiveness.   • Romania - The Romanian Association for Quality, ARC will organize free one-day workshops, with different topics, in four different cities: Bucharest, Brasov, Timisoara and Iasi.
  • Slovakia - Slovak Society for Quality plans to celebrate Quality Week 2013 as well as 20th anniversary of Slovak Society for Quality on 14th-15th of November holding 2 days conference named "Quality Renaissance – Co-creating a viable future". The event is going to include also a regional quality representatives' round table discussing about possible quality management area synergies in the Central Europe region.

  • Spain - The Spanish Association For Quality (AEC) will celebrate in November the 14th  the main act of this annual commemoration in Spain, under the Honorary Presidency of  Their Royal Highness the Princes of Asturias, Felipe de Borbón and Letizia Ortiz.   • Ukraine - UAQ organizes on November 14-15 the 22nd Forum “Quality Days in Kiev’2013”. In the Forum program are planned several round tables and 4 seminars.
